More Blood, Sweat & Beers!

Eric Church rocked the house last night at Nationwide Arena with the The Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour featuring Brantley Gilbert. The show was almost a packed house, not an easy feat for the large arena.

Georgia born, Brantley Gilbert started off warming up with some songs fans were familiar with and closed with his most popular song, “Country Must Be Country Wide.” Gilbert had the fans on their feet nearly his entire set. Most people don’t even realize that he has written songs they hear on the radio every day that have been recorded by other Country Superstars. After seeing him live, I can see this self proclaimed “Country Boy” going nowhere but up.

When Eric Church hit the stage, you could hardly hear him welcoming the crowd. He reminisced to the crowd about playing other places in Columbus years ago, a small bar called ‘Whiskey Dicks” along with another country bar called “Screamin’ Willies.” This made the crowd go even crazier. He connected with his audience in a way that is rare with most artists. There were no big screens, and not many special effects besides the smoke and lights. It was just pure rock infused country music with some deep, some partying, but all identifiable lyrics. If you don’t like a crowd on your feet, story telling, dancing, and a fun crowd, you probably wouldn’t have enjoyed it. But I can pretty much bet that everyone at that show won’t miss the chance to see Eric Church if he comes near their town again.
