on the lawn to see one of the best shows the LC has seen in a while.

Upon entering the LC, it became clear as to the wide age range of concert goers that can relate to the music of Darius Rucker.

Rucker started the show with “Love Will Do That”, setting the tone for a fantastic night of tunes.

Wasting no time, The band then kicked into the fan favorite, “Alright”. As the song began, a deafening cheer was let out and the crowd in unison sung every word.

The setlist played contained music from all different genres and artists, covers included, “The Joker” a Steve Miller Band Cover, “Ticks” by Brad Paisley, “Wagon Wheel” by Old Crow Medicine Show,  “Family Tradition”, a Hank Williams Jr. classic. and even covered “Purple Rain” by Prince to end the show.

Many Hootie and the Blowfish songs also made their way into the set, “I Only Wanna Be With You”, “Hold My Hand” and “Let her Cry” to name a few.

On top of all this great music, Darius managed to play a large quantity of his own music. The show was at a pinnacle when hit song “This” began.

From start to finish the energy and musical quality was on key. As far as stage presence goes, Darius had a genuine smile that could be seen from the back of the lawn and a confidence about him that added to the positive feelings. To say that his performance was great would be an understatement. Having seen the show, it’s hands down one of the best ways to spend a summer evening. In the words of Darius Rucker, “I’ve got all I need and it’s alright by me”.
